To enjoy the life
Travelling is a passion that you can easily can addicted to. But this is no problem I think :-). I can say that this means a lot to me, but i try to travel in a way that is not typical. Of course I'm interested in sights, taking pictures and doing this touristic stuff, but more important is the contact to local people and culture. Then you can understand the place you are visiting. Who can explain more to you? A guide in your native language or a person that lives in this place. The center of the capital doesn't represent the whole country, I love to travel through the country by train or hitchhiking. I'm interested in trains and the special romantic a journey with the train has.
But I think the best experiences have been with hitchhiking. In this days a lot of people think that all human are unfriendly and you can't trust anybody, but hitchhiking proved to me that there are so many helpful people around the world. Amazing! I met so many interesting people by doing this and it gives you a great feeling of freedom.
I love to watch football matches when I travel. I'm more interested in old stadiums and traditional clubs, seeing a match of a rich club like Chelsea is not what I'm looking for.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Actually I try to surf a lot because I find connections with people all around the world. If I just pass a city for some hours and I have no time to hang around with my host, I take a hostel, because couchsurfing is not only for a free bed.
I would like to host more, but somehow there aren't many requests :-)
So feel free to contact me, if I can't host you I will try my best to help you or give you some advices about my region "Ruhrgebiet".
I have been hosted in Norway, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Rumania, Turkey, Serbia and the Netherlands. I'm sure this list will get longer :-)
It was a great experience every time again!
My first host was Jon from Oslo and after some minutes I already realized how great couchsurfing is. We had an amazing evening together and a lot of great evenings all around Europe followed :-)
Traveling around, hitchhiking, traveling by train, football and stadiums, geting in touch with different cultures, international food, music...
Music, Movies, and Books
Music from the 80s and 90s, Electronic Music (only Old School!), Hip-Hop (especially German).
I also like to sit together with some couchsurfers, listening to trash music. That's real life style :)
I don't watch many movies, but I have to say that some couchsurfing hosts showed me some interesting ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If you come to a place you haven't been before it's amazing again and again! Every place can have something special, no matter if it's 100 km or 10 000 km away from home. You just have to be open-minded to discover it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't know. Maybe some German...but I already found out it's not easy to teach...
I also have some advices about travelling on budget...always good to know :-)
