get a grip on multitasking
I hope people see me as likable, helpful, open to new encounters and new experiences. Maybe they would say I'm rather chaotic and forgetful. But this I hope they wouldn't say.
I have three kids (born 2001, 2006, 2010) and I'd love them to grow up being aware of other cultures, languages, religions etc. They are very communicative, even without the help of words.
I was brought up surrounded by Buddhists and Buddhism is the closest to what I would call my personal philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to host travelers
I've had experience as a host and I simply LOVED it each time
Music is one of the most important aspects of my life. I sing in an a capella singing group. We engage ourselves in traditional village music (Ukrainian, Russian, Belorussian, Polish traditional songs), but I'm very open to other styles of music. I love improvising and I've just started to learn to play the guitar.
I also enjoy spending time with kids - I guess this is because I have never left behind my own inner child.
I'm very concerned about the environment and animal rights - I'm a vegetarian because of ethical reasons and I'm trying to be environmentally conscious and careful as far as it's possible in this crazy world.
I'm an English teacher working mainly with kids.
Music, Movies, and Books
books - almost all kinds, music - lately Zaz, but this changes a lot, movies - with little violence, a lot of wisdom and not too much going on at a time
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*Childbirth. Nothing compares to that.
*In singing - moments when harmonizing voices stop being separate, when they entwine and weave together, carry you away.
*Skiing on my own in high mountains - feeling the speed and going down, down, down..
Teach, Learn, Share
I know plenty of traditional village songs which have survived because of sharing. I want to continue this sharing tradition.
I'd be most happy to be able to practice my English or French (very basic) and to give my kids a chance to learn some English.
