Guten Tag, my name is Florian. I'm photography student, ugandan action movie starlet and non snorer. In my free time I like to craft lamps and play with light, so my flat gets a light makeover all the time.
I also have this odd hobby that all of my furniture has to be gifted to me, I don't really buy stuff. Whenever I get tired of it I just gift it away again and get something new.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I live in a big shared flat in the city center of Dortmund, together with four lovely friends of mine. We love having guests and this flat just has to be shared, so having guests from all over the world is just the best thing we can do.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like minimalistic music, whether it's moody piano stuff or danceable, non predictable electronic music, I just don't want music to be this EDM like blown up spectacle where it is more about show and less about emotions. I like stuff like Four Tet, Nils Frahm, Floating Points, Bonobo, Agoria and a lot of very obscure stuff.

With movies it's all about world building. My favorite movie is City Of God, I love how this movie creates a believable world that I don't doubt once during the run time of the movie. I also cried a little when Wilson, the volleyball, died during Cast Away with Tom Hanks. Spoiler Alert.

My favorite book is The City Of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers. Liking things with City Of in the title seems to be a thing now that I think about it. I need to find a musician with that name.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I died in two Ugandan action movies and saved a goat from getting run over by a truck. Just to have that goat served as dinner the very next day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a photography student and working photographer, so I can always teach you a thing or two about that. I'm not the best when it comes to other arts though and I would love to improve my knowledge in that field. I love learning new stuff and being a beginner at something, so anything you want to share with me is great.
