About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm a 71 year old (but inwardly very young) Canadian woman. I have 6 weeks to explore Europe, starting mid April. My mission is to see new amazing sights and revisit my childhood memories.

ABOUT ME

As a mere child, my family and myself were transported by ship from Canada to europe for 3 years while my dad served a posting to Werl Germany. while there I developed a love of travel and curiosity about other people and cultures. Now that I'm retired, I'm off to explore Europe for 6 weeks. But I dont go far without a camera in my hand. it's all about the pictures.

PHILOSOPHY

simply the golden rule that I was taught as a child.
do unto others as you would have them do onto you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a couch surfer since my ill-be-gotten youth. As a teenage girl, I hitchhiked across Canada alone. borrowing couches from my relatives and friends. I'm 71 and the last time I couchsurfed was last summer when I stayed with my brother for a few days, visiting Halifax where we had lived for a few years as children. I didn't think he would take it literally when I asked to borrow his couch, but yes, I did sleep on the couch.

History, culture, meeting members of the lesbian communities in different cities and countries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitched a ride on a gypsy wagon at age 7, with a young playmate of the same age. we had gone for a hike that proved to be longer coming back and they pulled up in their horse drawn wagon and offered us a ride back into the PMQs we lived in.
