About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn who I am.

ABOUT ME

I am a friendly fellow, try hard to do the right thing the best way and sometimes I spend a little too much time in my head trying to figure that and all other matter of philosophical puzzles out. I like doing things with my hands in the world like working or playing music because it helps to bring me back to earth. I love to eat and cook! It seems my reputation for eating a lot but looking like a bean-pole often precedes me (and now it will precede me in the couch-surfing community too haha!). Oddly I enjoy washing the dishes too and try hard to get them spotless. I am open to new things and love learning, teaching, conversation, and the communal aspects of sharing the world consciously with others.

I also hate fitting in to a mold, don't like to be judged, and like to try to do things for myself (since I was a kid).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I took a road-trip with my friends right after high school across the USA and my friend had an account we used. Living in Bellinham another house mate of mine had an account and I really enjoyed having an awesome visitor from Switzerland! Now I have the need for my own account. My dad trying to help us with our first big trip from the US actually contacted some nice folks for me and suggested me to open an account.

It is a great resource to connect people, to get help when you need it and give help when you are able. The reviews and connection between actually people makes it really useful and holds people accountable the way the want to be. (Exactly what the WWOOF program is lacking and allows farms to be dishonest and some Workers to also misuse the program for a way to stay and travel cheaply)

Interests

I love to play and listen to music. Any instrument will do, I have a mandolin to bring! I am a novice "journaler" and have enjoyed writing poetry and parts of short stories more often in the past. I like words and language. I have a passionate interest in becoming self-sufficient and I have a dream right now of getting a diesel truck, converting it and learning to maintain it running on used vegetable oil and then studying to become a natural builder with knowledge of how to live in harmony with the land, as a steward of animals and plants in community and collaboration with other human-folk like myself. I am a proponent of being conscious and responsible with our choices and actions. As a foodie meat eater I think I should be able to be a part the entire process...which brings me to the next section-

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An awesome time was seeing Glen Hansard in concert, up front, in Vancouver, Canada!

The feeling of being together for the second time in person after a few months of long-distance communicating and relationship with my darling Francesca.
