Born in North Carolina, I began traveling with my sights primarily set on California in 2000. I took a 12 year detour to Salt Lake City and became "domesticated" there after marrying my first wife in 2002. In 2004 I went to the Burning Man festival and my whole life changed. I had powerful (and painful) transformations that sent me in new directions spiritually and geographically... 8 years later I moved to Ventura, California with my 2nd wife after the Great Wheel turned again. We had virtually lost everything going for us in Salt Lake and decided it was finally time to pursue our dreams of a new life on the coast of California in 2012. To say my journeys have not been easy is an understatement, but the experiences and lessons have galvanized my nomadic spirit. Tragically, I left my second wife (whom I will always love) a year later after much struggling left us bitter and depleted. I thus began my latest and most profound quest to date. So far it has led me from the underground culture of beach bums living in Ventura's "river bottom" community, to decadent Las Vegas hotel rooms complete with fire spinning beauties clad in lingerie, to the cosiest, warmest, most inviting home to ever grace the seaside town of Carpinteria, and finally to where I sit today: ready to go back to my family's lake front home in North Carolina. I am stripped bare. I have no real possessions. Just "a stolen wife, a rhinestone life, and some good ol' boys" ...er', two travel savvy cats, that is! Time to regroup, wind down a bit, and prepare for the next episode... Where will I end up next? ...Perhaps, your couch! Only time will tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had my first experience with CS back in 2010 after separating from my second wife briefly that year. I met a girl I traveled to San Francisco with and we were able to stay in the area easily using her CS account. I met super cool people and upon returning to Salt Lake, I got an apartment with a young girl who was happy to host Couch Surfers. I then got the opportunity to experience it from the other perspective. I went back to my wife after a few months but after leaving her again in '13 and recent hardships in my travels, I decided to reconnect with and participate in the warm hospitality I found here 5 years ago. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"Stumbled" into complete awareness of my timeless nature, essentially reaching an eternal space of "enlightenment" and then returning safely to my dualistic life in this body and space/time, actually retaining a fragment of memory from the event. It was very illuminating and changed my view of everything I previously thought I knew. No small potatoes!

I can teach you how to hula hoop, how to spin fire, Qi Gong, massage techniques, how to roll a joint (or blunt), how to grill just about any meat, fish, or vegetable just for starters...

What I Can Share with Hosts

Massages!!! And fire shows (if you got a yard or nearby vacant lot). Also, I am a neurotic cleaner, a Grill Master, have Tetris like organizing skills, pet sitter extraordinaire, great listener, honest to my own detriment, can sew, I can dance without alcohol, plus, I am very grateful and respectful of others space and things.
