Hello! My name is Francisco. I live in England, in the lovely and gorgeous city of Bath. I was originally born
in Brazil (a long time ago!) but I have been living in the UK since 2014.
I'm a mathematician, currently doing my PhD at the University of Bath. I'm very passionate about my
profession, but I also have many other interests - as you can see below!

I consider myself a very lively and friendly person. I'm very excited about life, learning about different
cultures and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a big enthusiast of the idea of couchsurfing. Some of my best friends have been using couchsurfing for
many years - so l am now! :)
I'll be very happy to help people from anywhere with their trips - if not as a host, then at least as company
or a guide, or even with advice!
I expect to meet people in my trips to make it more enjoyable and active!

Everything can be interesting, it depends on the moment! Apart from my research, I have been interested in:

Folk music (I've had a few gigs around Bath recently), politics, travelling and learning about different
cultures, history, cooking (I'm vegan and coffee addicted!), gardening, sports (mostly cycling, running and
football), learning Russian and Belarusian.

Music, Movies, and Books

Such an unfair question! :P

As a musician from a family of musicians, I've got a broad and general taste for music. I've been mostly
listening to Brazilian folk music (bossa nova, samba, chorinho, música caipira e de raiz), old American blues.
East European groups (Okean Elzy, Zemfira, Rel1kt, etc) and classical (being Chopin my favorite!) . Also,
some other rock artists have always been part of my playlist: the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Legião Urbana, Dead
Fish, Garage Fuzz, The Descendents, Foo Fighters and many more.

Books and films occupy most of my spare time - I have been reading to Svetlana Alexievich's books and I
suggest you to do the same! ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taught mathematics and physics to underprivileged students in Brazil whose couldn't afford the pre-university
preparatory courses and hear from them that they've got offers from some of the best universities in the
country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to prepare a tasty vegan meal and maybe a few words in "Brazilian" Portuguese! :)
