I'm a french filmmaker and am starting on July 1st a travel in South America with my roommate/best friend Julien (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/juliengr). The plan is to drive from Bogota, Colombia to Ushuaia, Argentina, through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and then try to find a boat that could bring us to Antarctica, our ultimate goal.
I've been living with roomates for the past 15 years in different countries and never had any problem with them. I'm pretty tidy and organized so be sure I won't take much space, and we have our own air mattress and sleeping bag.
Along the way I'm making some short films, so if you wanna check what we do, here are the links :
PEOPLE, PLACES, and some other random things
And this is our trip to the Northernmost point in South America

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
8 years ago I've done a road trip in West Africa and basicaly did a lot of "couchsurfing" just by meeting some welcoming people in the street, and for me there is no other way to travel than meeting local people and live with them, and couchsurfing is the internet version of what I did in Africa.
I started using Couchsurfing 3 years ago as a host thanks to my roomate account, we welcomed some great people, now it's time for me to be become a guest for a few months ;)
Music, Movies, and Books
I love music and try everyday to find some new things to listen to, mostly Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz, Disco.... and actually many other things. Let's share some tracks... here is a first one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu0KsZ_MVBc
As a Filmmaker I obviously love films. More specifically I'm into films that makes me laugh or teach me something, and ideally both at the same time. I watch a lot of Documentaries, probably more than fiction. From my perspective, my job is to produce something that is gonna entertain AND make the audience wonder.
I read many different type of books. I'm about to finish an essay written by a very inspirational human being, Pierre Rabhi, and I'm consequently about to start an other one, probably Mike Horn's Latitude Zero, which tells the story of this guy making a world tour following the equator line without using motorized transportation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I guess my trip to West Africa is the most amazing thing I've done, even if it's not that amazing after all... But I learned so much about so many things thanks to this experience I consider it as the most amazing thing I've done in my life so far. Also I made my first film about that trip, and the result and the feedbacks I got from it finished to convince me that I wanted to be a filmmaker.
Teach, Learn, Share
and this what I'm fighting against everyday :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I consider couchsurfing as the perfect way to live the real local experience and if I sent you a request that means I'm sure we'll have many things to share regarding our lives, such as travel experience, work experience, etc... and the best thing to do that is to start with a good meal, so if you let me use your kitchen I'll be happy to cook for you.
