Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No "official" couchsurfing experiences yet. But I have crashed on couches in 10 or so countries. Best experiences were in rural china, on a bike trip with my brother through Yunnan province with no maps, routes, anything. We camped in rubber plantations and in the small homes of farmers who let us stay with them after long days of eating potatoes, steamed buns, and fruit as we rode along. AMAZING!

Interests

Biking, gardening, carpenty, brewing, sailing, diesel engine work, hosting parties, getting out of my comfort zone.

Music, Movies, and Books

No movies, unfortunately. I need to watch more.

Currently reading the Count of Monte Cristo, Putting Food By, Natural Capitalism, The Worst Hard Time...
I read many books at once.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to South America for six months, farming (Bolivia), studying bats (Venezuela), meeting my 80 year old aunt for her reunion tour of Ecuador. It was an amazing trip.

Also bought an old boat and sailed for a month after living aboard and fixing it up for a year and a half. Engine broke down a bunch but we made it half way up Vancouver Island. Before turning back. It was an amzaing month on the water.
