ABOUT ME

I'm a Dutch girl/woman/whatever you want to call it, living in Istanbul. I decided to live here after travelling on and off for a year, and not wanting to let go of that "travel feeling." In a previous life I had a great job at the university as a research associate, but at one point I thought it was time to leave the nest and tick some things of my bucket list.
I've lived in Istanbul for a year now, and I'm loving it. I've had a fascination with Turkey for a while now, so living here is a dream come true.

I'm a newbee. My great experience surfing here in Turkey has made me want to sign up and return to favor to somebody else!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've just had one experience, and that made me join! I tagged along with my couch surfer friend for a night in Fethiye, and it was amazing. We (a group of 4) were hosted by Meric and his two friends. We rented a car and had a blast exploring the area of Fethiye. I think I made three new friends :)

Interests

Old cultures, food, video games, movies, food, museums (in all shapes and sizes), food.... did I say food? Eating, not cooking :p

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Eating a pizza with a view of the tower of Pisa, seeing carnival preparations of a local high school in Colombia, eating a giant schnitzel in Vienna (it was really big! and delicious), seeing my niece for the first time...come one, that shit's amazing too! I don't know, so many things...the little and big things. I had this amazing white chocolate ice cream in Madrid that I still dream about, but also made my lifelong dream come true by travelling from Paris to Istanbul by train.
