ABOUT ME

I've moved around a lot and traveling has always been a very large, and important part of my life, and only now am I getting to explore what that means to me. I look at every new experience as an opportunity to learn something new; either about myself or about the world I live in.

Currently I'm doing a double major in Political Science and Geography in Ottawa, and trying to adjust to life in one city. Ultimately I'd like to work in sustainable development, especially sustainable agriculture.

Lets see...generally I'm pretty quite, which is a bit ironic because I really like meeting new people and getting to know them. I laugh easily and think that it's essential to take life with a good sense of humor.

PHILOSOPHY

I think Eleanor Roosevelt put it best:
"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience."

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm pretty new to couchsurfing, but hopefully not for long!

Interests

I love old movies, food is a huge interest; and I'll try pretty much anything (unfortunately I don't seem to have much of a talent for cooking, but I always love learning and cooking with other people), rugby, the outdoors, art; especially art history and photography, I love reading, politics (in fact that's what I'm going to study), and after WWOOFing for a year I have a new appreciation for farming. I love hearing peoples' opinions on different subjects - I can't promise I'll agree, but I'll listen and usually I end up learning a lot.

Some of my favourite movies include: All About Eve, Philadelphia Story, Roman Holiday, 12 Angry Men, Casablanca, Rebecca, V for Vendetta, The Goonies, Lucky Number Slevin, 28 Days Later, and the list could go on and on

Books: Wicked, The Historian, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Gone With the Wind, The Motorcycle Diaries, Sophie's World, The Elegance of the Hedgehog, Emma, and anything by Agatha Christie

And as for music...I like a little bit of everything, in fact there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to what I like :)
