COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any CouchSurfing experiences yet, but I'm excited to give it a try!

Interests

The outdoors is one of my main interests. I'm lucky enough to have spent most of my life in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States, and have had countless adventures in the pristine wilderness found there. Camping, hiking, backpacking, mountaineering, kayaking, snowshoeing - it's all great! I love music as well, and going to live shows is another of my favorite pastimes. Reading books, cooking, and spending time with friends are all great as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Anything by Wes Anderson
Music: Love folk music, especially from the thriving London folk scene (i.e. Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, et al.) as well as most other types of music. Current favorite bands: Fanfarlo, Fleet Foxes
Books: Hemingway is one of my favorites in English, also love contemporary German literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I, as an American, having a conversation in Norwegian with a Finn, who was speaking Swedish, at a bar in the Czech Republic. An amazing intercultural experience!

Also, climbing Mt. St. Helens, an active volcano in the US state of Washington.
