About Me

Be the BEST me!

For the ADD (like me): Travel, Culture, History, Marketing, Food & Design nut

So, aliens dropped me off with a strange family in Indiana--for some *still* undetermined reason--in 1968. Since then (literally), I've changed residences probably 50 times or more. Not to worry, I'm not a convict or anything. :-)

Since then, I've been running away from that place. I feel like I'm "from" EARTH; but not a specific longitude/latitude of it. Therefore, I'm constantly finding new places on it where I want to live and learn about.

I'm in a great stage of life where I'm mature but still young in my heart and mind; and thus, fascinated by e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. I'm interested in traveling the world for the rest of my life and I'm utterly free to do that.

Rather than boring you with too much detail, let's shortcut a little... I'm also the following things: non-smoker (quit 15+ yrs, 420 ok), amateur philosopher, francophone, liberal, classical pianist, oldest with 6 sisters, foodie, internet marketing entrepreneur (& as such, the one thing I "require is that I *need* access to high speed internet for my business.)

This is my first attempt at a profile here so I've probably left out something important (or said too much which is usually the case.) Feel free to clarify either. I'm an open book!

In a word, Neoplatonism. I'm very passionate about life. I'm serious when I say that it would take me *days* to answer this question fully. My personal philosophy is always up for discussion. In fact, I think that's one reason why I want to explore the world. I'll never feel complete without the perspective of EVERY culture in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a new philosophy about life that says I will help others so that maybe they will choose to show kindness to me. I also want to live a life that many others only *dream* about...and use as an example for others to do the same.

None really. I'm just getting a chance to start traveling again. I've slept on many friends' floors/couches but that's not the same thing as this.

Whoops... i think i included that in the first part:

  • culture
  • books
  • design
  • dining
  • running
  • movies
  • traveling
  • business
  • entrepreneurship
  • history
  • medicine
  • philosophy

Music, Movies, and Books

G.I. Gurdjieff
A.L. Almaas

Name a philosopher, and I'll want to read him/her.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My *first* time abroad, I saw a baby drop out from a pregnant woman's skirt...on a street London. She was screaming her head off and I was 17. So, I couldn't figure out what was going on, until...

(That's NOT EVEN a joke. It was the spring of 1986.)

Teach, Learn, Share

All of these people/ideas have changed my thinking in profound ways (in no particular order):

Fritjof Capra (Systems Theory)

Charlie Rose ("The Brain Series")

Ernest Holmes

A.H. Almaas ("Diamond Heart" Series)

Gregg Braden

Neale Donald Walsch ("Conversations with God")

Lynn V. Andrews ("Medicine Woman" series)
~ this is a great "introduction" to Native American spirituality.

Paulo Coelho ("The Alchemist")

Gary Zukav ("The Seat of the Soul")

Daniel Quinn ("The Story of "B"")

RE: 2012 - (may or may not be truth but for consideration and further research)

RE: "teleology"

"Mind Walk" - (written by Fritjof Capra)
"The Shift" -
re: a "quantum moment" -
"The Celestine Prophecy"
"Waking Life" -
- Anything by Joseph Campbell
"Donnie Darko" - it didn't "change" me but it'll mess with your brain(!)

This isn't a complete list but it's a good start.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Honduras, Italy, Mexico, Monaco, Spain, United Kingdom, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
