My husband and I moved to Portland, Oregon in November 2012 (which means that as of the time of this update, we've only been here for three months!). We came from the South--Louisiana--and haven't looked back yet. Portland is lovely, and we like to explore the bars and thrift stores and waterfalls and parks. Mostly we're broke, but there's still stuff to get into.
I'm college educated, and was a youth librarian before we came to Portland. I still haven't found an awesome job here, but to be honest, my interim convenience store job is in a great neighborhood and is pretty fun, for the most part.
I'm a poet. I love to translate Latin (no, really). I'll read most things. I love to take the bus.
I live my life to smile and make other people smile. Whatever my problems might be, they've probably got no place in your day. I'm big into live and let live. You probably won't find a thing I'll tell you you should never do (except probably cause harm to another person). Life is too short and too hard for me to try to police anyone else--or for me to not find some wonderful beauty in every day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
None, yet! But I'd love to host someone if the time is right. You might want to bring an air mattress or at least sleeping bags (we have blankets and extra pillows), because all the furniture we have right now is a loveseat. :D
Latin, poetry, pretty leaves, people's smiles, laughter, Portland microbrews, Portland burgers, my stupid cats, Elliott Smith, tiny things
