About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi everyone,
I'm Gabrielle, a twenty-two friendly and enthusiastic young woman. I come from Montreal, such a great city in Quebec, Canada. I have a diploma in literature and cinema. I am currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I'm studying about Danish culture for a whole semester.
I am travelling around Europe at the same time and planning to go back home in September. I love to meet new people, discover about different cultures and learn new languages. I am very open-minded and love to chill out or go out with friends, colleagues and travellers.
I am really interested about cinema, literature and food. I used to work in a pastry shop in Montreal for four years, in different restaurants in Paris and now I'm bartender in Copenhagen. As you can see, I'm always up for having fun and getting around a beer or a good meal. I also cook and make weird jokes.
In addition, I could teach you about quebecers expressions.
Cheers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am not used at couch surfing , I host a lot of friends in Copenhagen but never been the one couch surfing.
I think it's a very different way to travel and meet people from everywhere. I chose couch surfing because I think it's a great experience of sharing moments of life and multiples aspects about our own culture. I love to hear people talk about awesome things they visited, they have done, places they have been to. It's always nice to discuss with so much diverses persons and learn from them, in a certain way.
I think couch surfing is an interesting way to travel and may help me grow more.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of different music. I can't really say which one is my favorite one. Each song is perfect for a certain mood or moment.
To give you an idea, here are some artists I love : Bon Iver, Chet Faker, Oh Wonder, Alt-J, Rhye, Jack Johnson, Jungle, Just Jack, Woodkid, Buena Vista Social Club, Gramatik, Manu Chao, the XX... I also listen to a lot of old beats like Earth, Wind and Fire, Bee Gees, Abba, Marving Gaye and so on.
My favorite movie type is psychological drama because I find it fascinating how the characters are evolving through those films.
Movies that moved me for instance are Requiem for a dream, The Shining, Funny Games, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, Mommy...
I really love directors like David Lynch, Darren Aronofsky, Michael Haneke, Wes Anderson, Lars Von Trier, Stanley Kubrick, Hithcock...
I used to read a lot before since I was studying literature. Right now the books I read are more related to food, cooking, evolution of restauration. I also read a lot of blogs and also write for one in Montreal. I'm trying to read books written by quebecers authors to discover about the literature in my own county and country.
