Find a place to stay, meet new people
Your garden variety anxious queer kid who can't shut her filthy mouth. I like to cut up my clothes and dye my hair and give myself tattoos at home which you really shouldn't do but ya know. I really like juice, tall guys, and blue hair.
Music is ridiculously important to me. I hold it above most things that I do because it's the one thing that makes me genuinely happy. I play guitar, mandolin, and ukulele, trumpet, tuba, some violin, and I sing. It just puts a smile on my face.
I've realized that I can't possibly live happily AND live up to everyone's expectations.
Mostly looking for a place to stay with someone really cool and nice.
Explore. Adventure. Learn about yourself as you learn about the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've stayed on 4 couches! Three in California and one in Oregon! All four were very fun people who showed me around the area and kept me well-informed. I visited some really great authentic restaurants and spent lots of time at Balboa Park in San Diego. I worked a couple gigs in LA and operated a farmer's market in San Fran. I learned more there than anywhere else.
Music, Movies, and Books
Charlie Bartlett, Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Shaun of the Dead, Harry Potter series, Girl Interrupted, Wristcutters: A Love Story, etc.
Marina & The Diamonds, Louden Swain, Tyler the Creator, Jonny Kaplan and the Lazy Stars, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Bastille, Lorde, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, The Temper Trap, etc.
Theres nothing I won't read, if you suggest it :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was on a Greyhound bus through the Cascades and we stopped in a small town called Weed, California. The stop was a tiny family-owned store that looked right out of the movies. I was talking to a woman from Portugal who was also going up to Oregon, and she taught me about the constellations from that tiny stop in a tiny town. I learned how to tell time and how to read the heavens on the spur of the moment conversation I decided to start.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to teach people about being generous. I've been involved in charities my entire life, even now when I have basically no money. I've learned over a long time that being kind to others makes you feel better than anything in the world.
I want to learn to be active and happy. It's going to take a while but I'm sure it can be done.
