ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing person and love meeting new people. I love exploring urban areas and learning about the culture and history of the place. I’m also always interested in trying new foods - even if they sound a little funny!

I was born in Sacramento, California and went to college at Stanford University in California. While in school I studied urban design. That is not to say that I know much about it, but rather I am interested in learning more about why cities are designed the way they are.

Two years ago I moved across the United States to Washington, DC. I have been working here but recently just accepted a new job and will be moving down to North Carolina.

I am very close with my family even though they live on the other side of the country. I have a younger sister in college and both my parents still live in California.

I have spent some time in Berlin, where really enjoyed speaking German and some time in Hong Kong. I have also traveled to about half of the states in the USA, and have spent a short amount of time in both Milan and Lithuania.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking for some fun people to get a beer or a cup of coffee/tea with. I'm interested in learning about neighborhoods and the history of cities. Honestly, I love getting lost in an area and having to find my way back - I feel like that is how I see the most.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My girlfriend introduced me to couch surfing. She has done it a couple times in Singapore. We also had a couch surfer stay on our couch in California.

I love being active and meeting new people! I don’t have a TV because I think that there are just too many fun things to go do and interesting people to meet. As for sports, I really enjoy biking and running. I also played social kickball (it was mostly about beer) in Washington DC for awhile and had a blast! I also love getting a beer at a small bar and practicing my German.

I am interested in gaining a perspective on a city that only a local can provide. I am interested to learning about why a city is what it is. The way I like to learn about a city is by walking around, chatting with people, and eating a lot!
