About Me

CURRENT MISSION

As a performer, I am hoping to teach as many people around the world to dance like Kate Bush in her Wuthering Heights music video! Currently in Fiji, about to finish a sailing trip and looking to explore inland Fiji.

ABOUT ME

I am from Brighton, UK where I co founded a theatre collective called Shambush! I studied craft and design specialising in ceramics and metalwork. I also worked for several years with adults with learning disabilities, mainly teaching art.

I have been travelling since August 2013, first working and travelling in Australia and New Zealand. I then sailed with my boyfriend and friends to Fiji in June this year on a boat I helped to renovate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My boyfriend and I will soon leave our friends as they plan to sail to Vanuatu. We would very much like to stay in Fiji for a while and see as much of it as possible.

In May 2013 my theatre collective in the UK held a free event for the Brighton Fringe Festival in which we invited people to dress in red like Kate Bush (the singer) and reenact her famous 1979 Wuthering Heights music video and set a world record in the process. Nearly 400 people joined in, learnt the dance routine and danced in unison on the Sussex Downs. It was great fun and I am now hoping to teach people all over the world the dance and make a short film with the footage. I taught a fantastic group of people from Fulaga in Lau and hope to meet others in Fiji who would like to be involved in the project.

I have a flat in Brighton, UK where I will return next year and hope to meet new people by hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have benefitted many times from the generosity of strangers and have also hosted people in many houses I have lived in. I have couch surfed in the UK, France, Australia, New Zealand and Japan but mainly through word of mouth or with a friend who has organised it through the Couch Surfing website. This is the first time I have signed up for the official site and look forward to meeting new people and visiting new places.

Interests

I am interested in art, theatre, music and travelling. I have had the fortune to travel extensively in my life and love to experience different ways of life. I am sociable and enjoy meeting new people. I enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving and generally being by the sea.
