ABOUT ME
All about me? That would take a lifetime to write and a lifetime to read ...
I'm 40, a Canadian sadly born in the wrong country, a nurse aide working toward getting back into nursing school. Not necessarily in that order.
My hair is auburn, and I burn easily. I tend to be a bit reserved, but that's just my New England upbringing talking. Don't let it fool you.
PHILOSOPHY
"Personal philosophy" -- that's a little too highfalutin a phrase for me. I'm a Taoist, and I generally seek the path of least contention.
I have a way of life, if you like: know who you are, and what you're doing, and how you feel about it, and why. It sounds simple, but it's tough. Few people can get it right and I'm not getting it as right as I'd like. But getting to right isn't what matters; moving _toward_ right is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can only surf now, but it's my hope to give back by hosting others in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new to CouchSurfing, though not necessarily to couch-surfing, so I haven't had much to share.
Interests
Music, strategy games, psychology (it is my field, after all), history, sciences, especially the "outdoor" sciences such as geology.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movie is _Baraka_; I have a strong appreciation for movies that leave me thinking and wondering. Not that I can't enjoy some Hollywood theme-park rides, but they don't move me as much. The same pattern holds for music and books. It's impossible to simply categorise my tastes there, as they sprawl across genres.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The things I've seen that amaze me have generally been small mundane things, like watching snow-dunes progress across a friend's yard during a blizzard, or surveying the strange berms and hollows in the snow after. Like a luna moth perched on my arm, or a wild skunk casually walking across my feet, or an odd garden decoration that someone obviously put time and love into.
