About Me

(updated July 2017)

Preparing for my 10 month of travel, working for the Volvo Ocean Race

I am an aquarius. I have red hair (I have suspicions that my germanic ancestors had a little affair with one of the pretty celts in the area..hence the gingergene).
All of this meaning:
I like to draw the deepest secrets from your soul, I love to debate endlessly if neccecary about life, death and everything in between; the red hair gives me a temperament, not drastically to any radical point though (depends on where "normal" ends for you?!) I have most conversations in my head, meaning I probably think too much, and I have a habit of filthy humour and jokes that has not been cured yet. Also, I worry too much for my own good since I am the eldest sister to two gingers and one blonde brother, so there cannot be coming any good of it...

I am a very active person, always done a lot of sports (football, handball, gymnastics, rowing, rugby, dancing, yoga..) these days I love looong hikes in nature..that´s it..oh yeah and getting up in the morning..

Be the deliberate creator of the life you want to live, and always follow your desires.
What you think, the world becomes.

Follow your bliss, always.

Have less. Be more. (I am just so sick of all this stuff..where does it all come frooom??)

Oh and be uncomfortable, since you know, life starts outside your comfort zone!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Staying in big hotels, only staying in the resorts..is someting I have never done or will ever do! The meaning of travel is not to arrive safely back home, but to EXPERIENCE and SEE, TOUCH, SMELL, TASTE, HEAR new influences..that gives you perspective... When traveling, I always go the path less travelled..even if I am shit scared to do so before... and CS is one of many ways to do just that!
Hey ho, let´s go.

In Dunkerque, France for an awsome carneval where Monique & Zarko hosted us for one night. They invited half the town over to their place and showed us the way to party à la Dunkerque-style!

Ha, yes, the week on Gran Canaria was just close to pure bliss! We snorkeled, hiked, ate nothing but fresh, delicious fish and went skinny dipping under the stars (without the skinny dipping though..)

Working as a teacher (2016) has made me think a lot about society and child psychology. As well as it is a journey to see my pupils grow, it is an ongoing journey of personal growth...I am also living with my grandparents.. which is a challenge! But it has given me a good view on the situation for many elderly in society...and it isn´t pretty!
Yoga and meditation help me to unwind and to shift my focus from busy days with my 86 kids in school..to more important questions like: why am I here and where am I going? What drives me and what are my fears? How was this day and what am I grateful for?...

Right now I live in a small town out in the country side with trees and nature at my front door..so nature is a natural part of my daily life..spontaneous walks or swims in one of the many surrounding lakes, or just sitting on a tree stump listening to the sound of the forest are things I have been seen doing lately..The seasons are also felt in full force here, so right now we have had the first snow storm of the year...skiis are out!

I am very introspective, hence the constant thinking process and analysing of life and everything in between..

I like to cook, I have a somewhat special diet because of many food allergies, but I am very open to new flavours! I like to keep to unprocessed, healthy choices, with a lot of greens and fresh produce. So almost no alcohol, if I cheat, a good whiskey or refreshing mojito is accepted!

I LOVE TEA, especially my two cups of matcha every day..

For me, spirituality, reading, study of the self, and the subconscious, the oneness of the Universe, and understanding how it is all connected is an ongoing process that is important to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Not too much stuff these days, I like weird films that mind-fuck you, historical documentaries.. or a documentary about frogs mating...
Jane Austen, big time (mainly the BBC series..I think because the pace of the films are almost meditative..)
Everything by Xavier Dolan. He is just spot on. Sounds, visiuals, rythm..
Series: Black Mirror, Sherlock, Night Manager, Outlander, Sense 8...
I watched "The story of film: an odyssey" and have made a promise to see every film mentioned in that documentary....
Dylan Moran and Ricky Gervais, Russel Howard, and Trevor Noah...(before he went and became famous..)

Articles about funky futuristic innovations, good deeds in the world and somehow this guy called Trump keeps popping up on my FB feed...strange..
Oh, and ELON MUSK, his book was class.. someone give him a medal..

Eckart Tolle, Napoleon Hill and Abraham Hicks are teachers of the best kind!

Music...In one day I go from Christmas music with Ella Fitzgerald, to french rap, to Irish ballads... music is ALWAYS playing in my house! My mood also dictates what music I listen to..on Spotify, I have about 100 playlists...I have also been part of many choirs, so singing is always there...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing?
Won three Swedish Championships in two different sports.

Teach, Learn, Share

As I learn, I try to teach.
What I have, I share whenever possible.
Stuff is overrated, love is most important.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a genuine interest in people and their stories. It is the essence of life - connection with another human being. The deepest and longest lasting friendships I have, have been formed on the road.
I will share good company, kindness, a big heart, cooked meal (good or bad - you decide), respect for the individual, and openness for new experiences.
Above all honesty. No bullshit here, thank you!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State, Wales
