About Me

I'm currently interested in Permaculture based communities and changing the design and construction of Earthships to suit Aboriginal people. I am thinking in and around Darwin after watching the Australian movie 'Charlie's Country'....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here creating a back up for myself. And I want to make friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Instead of listing individually. I usually like any band and/or music Mike Patton, Tom DeLonge, Jack White, Soko, Ariel Pink, Elliphant are or have been involved in. For a handful of other examples of music I like; Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Sixto Rodriguez, HighAsAKite, Aurora, Fiona Apple, Amy Shark, Miley Cyrus, The Growlers, Ghost BC, Johnossi, Green Day, ACDC, The Travelling Willberrys, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Nirvana, Daniel Johnston, The Smashing Pumpkins, Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam, Van Morrison. Some movie directors it's hard to go wrong with are; Andrei Tarkovsky, Akira Kurosawa, Stanley Kubrick, Jim Jarmusch, The Coen Brothers, Martin Scorcese and Jane Campion. Authors of books I've found hard to put down include; Dostoyevsky and Roald Dahl.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

'The Metaphorical Suicide' by Mister Morgue. Rebirth is not always a first choice afterwards; but if one sticks around long enough it may creep up, grow on, or even leap out of the bushes and ambush one?!?!

Teach, Learn, Share

Kierkegaard - 'The Real Voyage of Discovery consists not in seeking New Landscapes ,but in having New Eyes' ? I'm pretty sure he also put forward the idea; 'we are all teachers ,and what we teach is what we need to learn, and so we teach it over and over again until we learn it!' So I want to share my appreciation of all that is in relation to this including; Paulo Freire's 'The Pedagogy of the Oppressed' (which breaks down most of all that is involved in the student:teacher contradiction for one thing.) And interest in Boal's 'The Theatre of the Oppressed'. I also find everything Mister Morgue has to say invigoratingly thought-provoking and often genuinely inspiring too.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The knowledge I have been collecting, which comes along with tools and skills for critically thinking has real potential to create positive change in the world once put into action. It also has some degree of potential if taken aboard by anyone to bring about powerful transformative growth in individuals everywhere. I have a willingness to trial new and better ways to live and do what we need to do more simply and/or with less of a damaging impact.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, India
