I like interesting conversations, learning something new, walks in the rain, music, language, travel (of course!), politics, beer (and wine). I take pleasure in lame things, such as pub quizzes, Rubik's cube, maps, flags and cute animals. I am a non-proselytising vegetarian!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Having only really been a guest at others' places, I now have the opportunity to pass it on! Looking forward to hosting people.
The small and random group of people that have hosted me have been the very pinnacle of human wonderfulness. Kind and friendly, couchsurfers have made my trip wherever I have been.
I like to do things, and have a range of interests. Usually I pick something new up every few months. Some things stick, others don't. Singing, playing guitar, learning languages and very amateur photography are perennial favourites. More recently I have started:
- going to the gym to lift weights;
- learning Rubik's Cube; and
- learning French.
- pub crawls
Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of music, mainly folk, singer/songwritery stuff, indie, metal, but also a bit of rap, jazz, etc.
I really enjoy movies, but I'm by no means a film buff and will basically watch whatever is put in front of me! If I´m trying to relax I will watch something mindless. If I want an experience then I will watch something a little less vacuous. A few favourite films: Once, Searching for Sugar Man, Juno, Intouchables, Into the Wild, Man on Wire, Little Miss Sunshine, Bon Bon El Perro.
I read mostly non-fiction because I like to learn something new, but I do delve into fiction very occasionally.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The sunset on the Solentiname Islands, Nicaragua. Being arrested at Britain's nuclear weapons base. Standing next to Europe´s biggest waterfall. Driving around America. Australian beaches. Tall buildings. Thunderstorms.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn anything new, in fact, it is a bit of a compulsion.
As for teaching, I can teach you some (basic!) guitar and help with learning English. I can teach you how to solve a Rubik's Cube in under two mintues (takes some practice!)
