About Me

My life was placed in a small mid-western town in Kansas, and yes we had tornadoes! I remember going to shelters and wondering what the town would look like after the storm passed.
I loved to read and play baseball. Was blessed with a loving home and plenty to do.
One of my best gifts was learning to work and enjoy working. I wanted to have a microscope at the age of 9 and I saved money from mowing lawns and bought one.

My track was to be an Engineer but I chose a path studying Theology. That gave me a well of information and orientation that has guided me well.

Lots of drama in my relationships - 3 marriages that ended in divorce. I had 4 terrific sons, one of them passed a little over 5 years ago. The 3 sons I have are wonderful and vibrant, with grandchildren now too.

I have invented a kit that creates a magnifying lens activated with water. Hits 335 deg. in less than 3 seconds outdoors, sooo you can ' make fire with water'.

Check it out.
I love robust conversation, I can cook, clean, fix things.
My strengths are also repairing optical instruments, especially microscopes, surveying instruments and precision optical tooling equipment -- See Brunson Instrument Co. website.

I enjoy research, dynamic analysis and 'what ifs'.

Why not Eternity??
It is already in motion, progress.
I am also a hopeless romatic. Love to express emotions, laughter, and just make each day a significant memory.
Will be glad to tell you about a near death event that has removed all my
comfort zones, but I am more comfortable than ever now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I researched the countries that I wanted to live in. Panama came out tops on my list. My life is in a transition now and I do not have the cash flow to rent or stay in a 'regular' hotel or hostel.

At he moment I have made some incredible friends here in Panama, and the Panamaniam folks here have been very kind to me.
I am pursuing several marketing oppotunities that have promise to generate regular income, when that happens then I plan to rent and get on the side of being able to offer my couch to others.
Is your couch calling??

I covered alot of my interests in the 'About Me' section. But I also have interests in crafts, making objects with wood. Designing new types of dwellings.
Being an armchair psychologist, finding out how to encourage others.
My interests also include my family, I feel like an 'advance scout' that is preparing the way in Panama for my family and friends to visit and see the fantastic food, animals and plants here in Panama

Music, Movies, and Books

I like just about all types of music. The Latin genre is high on my list to enjoy. I also like Symphonic, Rock and Roll.
If it sounds good, I listen.
Especially fond of hammer dulcimers.
Grew up listening to Country and Western and seeing some of the legends of Country and Western perform.
I remember seeing Dolly Parton and Porter Waggoner performing in Kansas City,
Dolly helped me through puberty that day, I had never seen that camera angle on TV--- WOW.
Movies-- Gladiator, Master and Commander- Far Side of the World,, Wizard of Oz, The Great and Powerful Oz, Hunt for Red October, October Skies, Three Stooges, Contact, The Russia House, James Bond, Steel Magnolias,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My dad was a police officer for the Kansas City Terminal RR Co. at the Union Station in KCMO for 37 years. He would take me to work with him and I felt like a prince as we walked around the main lobby-- ' you are Harry's boy, -- here have a candy bar, pop, etc.
Well when I was approaching my 10th birthday I told my Dad I wanted to drive a Real Train'. He said he did not know if he could do that for me. I pressed him to try and I am not sure, but maybe he gave the engineer a fifth of whiskey-- but when my birthday arrived-- I got to drive a real train in the yards for 3 hours switching cars !! It make me realize that if you asked the right questions and showed RESPECT really neat things can happen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a passion for teaching kids how to be creative, innovative.
How to express their dreams and pursue them.
My liquid magnifying lens kit has given me a physical vehicle to do just that.
Make children THINK !! I enjoy seeing the mind figuring out what these 2 lenses and a fat rubber band could be???
The creative ways they also see the magnifying lens is inspiring. One 12 year old girl saw a little aquarium could be made with adding plastic fish, another made a game similar to pac-man, by getting the larger bubble to eat up the little ones !
I love to share these stories and make new ones.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Eternity, time, anecdotes, laughter, recipies, HOPE, love, listening.
Sharing the beautiful vistas and also the scars from the trials and tests we pass through.
Friendships and historically significant events.
Discussing what is really importnat and seeing what is in each other 'life garden'.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Switzerland, Turks and Caicos Islands

Countries I’ve Lived In
