All the ambition of travelling that I had in my youth slowly filtered out when jobs and other responsibility came knocking at the door. But I am not here for sympathy but to try to put this right.

But I could easily grab a travel guide, return flights and the same hotel room in every city but what would I find. A tourist filled holiday. Nothing wrong with that but its not what I want. I want to meet new people who can teach me about their country, their culture, their passion and show me thing I wouldn't be able to see without Couchsurfing and the hosts involved.

If its true the world is my Oyster then I am here to find the pearls inside.

As a huge film fan answering what my favourite film is always a challenge. I have an eclectic mix of tastes, growing up with my family's love of black and white classics while seeing any modern films of 80's/90s I could.

Anyway overall it would have to be Magnolia but recently I've enjoyed Silver Linings Playbook, Her, Inside Out and Sicario.

Music-wise it changes constantly. At the moment First Aid Kit, James Bay, The Shires and Sia. Historically Kings of Leon, The Killers, Arcade Fire and Florence of the Machine. Always enjoy hearing new music.

When visiting Mexico I was taken to a rural community that made authentic, home-made tacos and Mexican food. It was amazing.
