I'm curious, enthusiastic and pretty laid-back. I laugh easily and get bored uneasily.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It's been a while since I've been surfing, but it has without exception provided very interesting experiences.
Things are interesting. Whiskers, sea shells, temporality, the state of the world...
Music, Movies, and Books
All kinds of music can be brilliant and often is, but I find myself being drawn towards guitar based folk music more than anything. Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Fabrizio de André, Townes van Zandt, Tim Buckley and Jim White are just some of my favourites.
I love films by Terrence Malick, Jim Jarmusch, Federico Fellini, Terry Gilliam, and of course lots lots more. I just saw Der himmel über Berlin for the first time and it gave me the shivers.
When it comes to books I'm especially interested in the extremely autobiographical & personal (like Knausgård, Levé & others) or the complete opposite (like Calvino, Le Guin, Saramago etc); writers who attempt to enlarge one's imagination, push the boundaries for what's possible. I also like to read old myths and folklore as it tends to get to the core in a fascinating way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been lucky to be able to go and see different parts of the world, and the best thing about travelling is always the people; the shared moments, conversations and the continuous learning.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to say "Have you seen the llama?" in Norwegian sign language and other equally crucial life skills for specific situations.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a rather one-dimensional sort of cook: I cook pasta. But I can provide a delicious pasta dish.
