Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been wanting to get involved in CS for a long time now, but its been a while since I've had a couch or been in a good position to surf. Perhaps I'm still not in the best position to surf but I really hope to be more settled soon so hosting is a definite possibility.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New - brand new!

Interests

So many things, music - acoustic, electric, learning things - any things, linguistics, sports climbing, farming, organic produce, running, skiing, snowboarding, cycling long distances - really want to do some ultra light mountain bike touring next year, football when there's time, creative writing, obscure film, being bad at circus skills eg.juggling, contact juggling, fire poi, travel, new culture (back to creative writing) - really seeing people happy and interested in something... , also very keen on leaving three dots at the end of a sentence :)

Music, Movies, and Books

J Dilla - J Hendrix + everything in between... Stornoway, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Burial, Young Montana, Shackleton, CLo Green, IAM, Fonky Family, BBKing, Fats Domino, Jack Johnson
Really love all music, love to hear new music and new genres, but listening alot to dubstep right now as the likes of Shackleton are doing really immensely exciting things - right at the forefront.

Then films, love French films, Gainsbourg being a prime example of the novel approaches taken there. Interested in anything special, but then 300 was special too. Have started to watch less films recently though as am bang into documentaries or even just being outside learning something new.

And books; thats a long conversation. Always reading something; just something I find somewhere. just finished Alain de Bouton's Art of Travel and also Lolita. Both brilliant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The same amazing thing over and over again - watching people come together to create something together, watching them love one another and help one another, and then being given the opportunity to join in with that. It's amazing to see how many people are capable of good.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm. Suppose I can improve your English, or help you learn about goats, or a little about some of the sustainability programs I've come across. Can help you translate and definitely teach you about whisky. Pretty good at flogging the whisky horse after 5 years working with it. And if you can't juggle at all I can definitely get you juggling 3 balls properly with at least one rubbish trick. Other than that, not so sure, but there's always something, surely
