We are a Danish couple, Mads and Johanne, currently travelling around in Africa. We have been on the road for two months and have travelled overland by bus in Ethiopia to Kenya and Tanzania. We are soon heading towards Rwanda and Mozambique before we are returning to our home country Denmark mid January.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are couchsurfing primarily to meet up with locals and come to know them and their way of living. We have lived in a lot of cheap hotels so far on our travel and are longing for some local experiences.

Interests

Our interests are right now colored by our travel. This means we are interested in African history and music not to mention food which we really enjoyed in Ethiopia and on the Eastern Coast of Kenya.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I (Mads) am, while not travelling, volunteering in a football club as a coach two times a week . It might not be equally impressive as climbing Kilimanjaro but often it feels as tough when you are handling 25 small boys.

I (Johanne) have been weightless during a medical study that I conducted in small airplane in Barcelona!
