Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Successfully completed the cross-country journey. Thanks to all of our amazing hosts who made it happen, especially our first few hosts who accepted us despite our lack of references: Peter and Cathy Dyck in Carlsbad, New Mexico; Chris Prentice in Moab, Utah; and Zach and Carrie in Williams, AZ. We drove almost 20,000 miles in 88 days, visited the lower 48 and met dozens of great people.

I'm back in Taiwan now saving up for another great adventure.

***Only personalized requests will be accepted.***

I created a google doc of stuff to do mostly in and around Taipei. It will get updated periodically. I'm not so technologically savvy so tell me if the link doesn't work: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NDJLP6KrEi3QauSmdRdG_fPFhN6kgxxil11ZZnUa0vc/edit

I enjoy watching and playing sports. Watching: baseball, basketball, college football, soccer. Playing: basketball, kayaking, tennis, golf (horribly), and running. I hiked 1/3 of the Appalachian Trail this summer so that's become a pretty big interest. I'm trying to do some hikes here in Taiwan if it would ever stop raining.

Music, Movies & Books

Best movie I saw recently was Inception, insanely awesome action that actually has a plot to go with it. Overtook my previous favorite movie: Slumdog Millionaire.

One of my favorite books in the epic story Shantaram, set in India. I read most of the Grisham's when I was younger. Recently I've gotten into non-fiction more like Devil in the White City and other Larson books. I find the Freakonomics books and anything by Malcolm Gladwell fascinating.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I lived in Taiwan for a year and saw and did so much. The best part was integrating their culture into my personality and growing as a person. One of my favorite experiences there was hiking up a mountain, than following a river back down the other side that led to a waterfall cascading over a temple built into a cave.

20-day 5-country Asia tour.

Teach, Learn, Share

I picked up some basic Mandarin and could share that. I might be better at helping with English since that's my job. I want to learn about other cultures and try to see the world through other peoples perspective.

Countries I've Visited

China, France, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand

Countries I've Lived In

Italy, Taiwan, United States
