About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living in San Luis Obispo, CA.

ABOUT ME

It's tough to sum up a person in a text box. Simply put I am adventurous, honest, enjoy good conversation and making lasting friendships. Enjoy cooking as well as eating great food. Not really a drinker, maybe a dark beer or glass of Pinot Noir every couple of weeks. Never have been a cig smoker (except while I was in Amsterdam- most everyone there is and if you share a joint it's mixed) but I do enjoy marijuana. Love to learn. Love my family and friends. Would like to go back to school. Enjoy other peoples points of view and that is one of the main reasons for involving couch surfing- to hear what others have to say about our country and world.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't judge the book by it's cover. In our modern world too many people make snap decisions in regards to a persons appearance. Treat others as you would like them to treat your Mom(or Dad). Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone. Think long term but live every day. Be thankful for what you have.

Music, Movies, and Books

Before they made the movies I read the Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien four times over a ten year span. Love the story. I have probably read most of Louis L'Amours westerns. I've always had a desire for the west, especially the desert. The most recent books I've read are "Tell All" by Chuck Palahniuk and "Into thin Air" by Jon Krakauer. Both very good.

As for music and it's ever expanding. I always enjoy music from the '70's, I know it's old but it just resonates. Beatles, Zeppelin, Floyd. The '80's were my youth too and the hair metal bands will always hold a special place in my memory, Motley Crue especially. I'm pretty open minded with music although I would probably not listen to rap or modern country of my own volition. Maybe I'm missing something, if you think so please offer me your thoughts.

Cinema is in my opinion the perfect art form. It combines visual, dialogue and sound stimulation to create a very moving experience. My favorites are varied from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "Cool Hand Luke", "The Maltese Falcon", "Unforgiven", "Fight Club", "Casablanca", "Pulp Fiction", "Resovoir dogs", "Taxi Driver", "Raging Bull", "Midnight Cowboy", "Legends of the Fall", "Grease", "Fifty First Dates, to "Happy Gilmore", Austin Powers", There's Something about Mary", "When Harry Met Sally", to "Thelma and Louise", "Heat", "Splash", "Ghostbusters", The Blues Brothers", "Roxanne", "Weekend at Bernie's", "The Mask", "Bonnie and Clyde", "Friday", "Boyz in the Hood", "Apocolypse Now", "Platoon", and don't forget "Top Secret" "The wizard of Oz", and "The Sound of Music",+++. Oh there's so many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived with a girlfriend in an ancient Anazasi ruin for a winter deep in a canyon near Sedona, AZ. It was a wonderful experience to live simply in our modern society. We were so alone yet so together. Without electronic distractions we were able to absorb the energy of the land. The stars were so bright, the sounds at night so close. The senses could barely take it all in. Once we awoke to a foot of snow and it seems like we were the only people in the world. We had our french press too so it was quite luxurious!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to give you a portrait of yourself. We all should have more images of ourselves as we go through our lives. Like markers of where we are at the time, we age so slowly yet we are changing constantly. It's good to keep track of who we were and where we've been.
