I'm a teacher of 6th grade social studies. It's great because it gives me a reason (!) to travel, as I can take my experiences back to the classroom and share them with my students.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just heard about this when I was traveling Europe this summer. Wish I had heard about it ealier, as I would have had a much better experience getting to know the people of the world.

Intereses

I love traveling, hanging out, trivia, the usual stuff a 28 y.o. guy would be interested in. I want to see the world as Bourdain does, one plate and one person at a time.

I've traveled most of Europe, and on my way home from Rome I came up with this idea:

I led a tour of the National Gallery of Art at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. To do this, I made T-shirts for all of my friends so it looked like they were a college tour group. Then, I dressed up in a blazer and a tie and led the "tour"

We were all in on the joke, but the people wondering around the museum were not. Thus, when they saw the tour, some people joined in, and actually started asking questions.

All the answers I gave were false, but the people bought it and thanked me. I didn't accept any tips though, as that would be too wrong.
