About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see and taste real things. For example, I am seeking the perfect cup of coffee (attention all cups of coffee: if you're perfect, please make yourself known to me).

ABOUT ME

I love traveling and meeting new people. I want to learn and explore as much as I can and I'm always trying to see the world in new ways and from the other's perspective. When I go to a new place, I like to get as close as I can to the culture by doing what the locals do, eating what they eat, etc.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not yet couch surfed.

Interests

Contrast, texture, and pattern draw me in, whether it's in regard to a piece of art, a dish, or a personality. I love beauty in all forms but I'm most drawn to visual beauty. I enjoy hanging out and laughing with my friends, cooking, eating out, reading, taking walks, discovering new places, dressing up, listening to music, and seeing films. I'm quite interested in religion and spirituality though I do not practice.

Music, Movies & Books

Movies: Persepolis, The Battle of Algiers, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Silences of the Palace, Hedwig and the Angry Inch Books: Pavilion of Women, Blood Bones and Butter, Jitterbug Perfume

One Amazing Thing I've Done

The coastal town of Mahdia, Tunisia was the strangest place I've been. Some people think it's the land of the Lotus Eaters in the Odyssey and indeed, I felt so sleepy and maybe even bewitched while there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to make the best mashed potatoes you've ever had, how to sew but not very well :), how to hold your liquor, how to mend a broken heart, how to accessorize your black dress, how to make the most comfortable bed in all creation, how to plan a menu, how to buy a car, how to look calm even though you're not, and how to say "Where's the party?" in French. I would like to learn how to read palms, how to draw down the moon, and how to cook your favorite dish.

Countries I've Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom

Countries I've Lived In

France, United States
