I'm not a traveller who has one of those "where I've been" maps on my profile as I'm really not interested in how much of my (or your) world map is coloured in. I especially don't care how many countries I (or you) have been to as to me it holds no importance. I don't travel to collect stamps in my passport, I travel to have experiences stamped on my memory.
* I'm not in my 90's nor does my (or your) real age matter.
* I've traveled around the world for over ten years.
* I'm a blacksmith.
* I believe that life, real life, does not require a price tag.
* I love animals and live a vegan lifestyle.
* I'm an anarchist in political leaning.
* I'm very much into DIY lifestyle.
* I don't drink, smoke, or take drugs. I never have.
* I prefer spending my time where none of the above take place.
* I'm a nerd. (Sci-Fi, Whedon, board games, comics etc)
* I'm not open minded. (No one in this world truly is)
* I'm judgmental. (We all judge as we all have prejudices)
* I'm very blunt and straight forward. (Extremely honest)
* I believe in actions, not words.
* I'm not a huge fan of our civilization.
* I'm extremely cynical but not nihilistic.
* I think sarcasm is the best discovery since oxygen.
* I'm actually a very nice person despite most of the above.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I use CS to share cultural experiences, not as another facebook or a platform for shameless self promotion which seems to be the norm these days. I host absolutely anyone whenever I have the space to do so and I have surfed all around the world. I've been a member of CS since 2006 (lost my original profile in crash, and was late making second one in early 2008) so have seen a lot of changes!
As an ambassador for CS since 2008 I've tried to spread the love of hospitality exchange no matter where I go.
I have hosted people in: Montreal, Vancouver Island, Costa Rica, Colombia, Malta, England, and Scotland. I've crashed on/in peoples couches, floors, hammocks, cars, vans, communities, gardens, bathtubs, back yards, beds, guest houses, lawns, beach property, living room furniture forts, trailers, and other strange places which I will not get into.
Animal rights, sci-fi, cyberpunk, board games, card games, blacksmithing, food not bombs, veganism, environmentalism, tattoo's, anarchism, no borders, waterfalls, rain forests, reading, writing, camping, climbing, indymedia, gardening, farming (no animals), being under water, beaches, writing and reading zines, animal rights, street art, fire dancing, vegan cooking, hiking, hammocks, hitchhiking, squatting, dumpster diving, mountains and mountaineering, guerrilla gardening, using the word conundrum, quoting or using anecdotes from Firefly or Futurama to describe anything!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've never poisoned myself with any drug, never had a drink of alcohol and never had first hand smoke of any kind in my system to this day.
Travelled around the world five times.
I built my own house with my father.
Qualified for and then completed the 24 hour World's Toughest Mudder course. Physically and mentally, nothing else has ever compared to this experience.
Snuck into Machu Picchu at 3am to witness one of the most amazing sunrises ever.
Gazed in awe of the Northern Lights on more than one occasion.
Had a scary run in with a giant sea turtle on the Great Barrier Reef.
Been within twenty meters of a breaching humpback whale and spinner dolphins kayaking in Hawaii.
Been high above the arctic circle.
The Amazon Rainforest.
Slept under the stars and a full moon on the sand dunes of Death Valley, California.
Stayed in treehouses for a week in the cloud forests of Laos.
Enjoyed a warm cup of tea on a cold winters morning in Darjeeling with a distant view of Mount Everest's peak.
I woke up breathing this morning. That's pretty amazing right?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach or share knowledge of: veganism, animal liberation issues, long term travel, freeganism, and food politics.
As a trained firefighter/first aid responder I can also teach basic first aid or other emergency response techniques.
Being born and raised on a large farm I can teach you many skills which come with that lifestyle such as: welding, carpentry, farming practices, operation of machinery, blacksmithing, food prep and storage (jarring, preserves), gardening etc.
I would love to learn anything you are willing to teach or share with me.
