We are a married cuople from Poland. We've been travelling continuously for 2,5 years through Asia and Australia (first year with two bicycles, sometimes motorbikes, currently with two too big backpacks). We have visited so far Turkey, Iraq, Iran, UAE, Oman, India, Nepal, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand... and still want more !
We are easy-going people who either like a mad impulse in travelling or if it's required obedient following the rules :). In a nutshell, diversity is the key word to recognise the way how we travel.

Long conversation with local people is the best way to get to know the communities with their lifestyles, habits and cuisine. Couchsurfing and similar sites seem to be a perfect tool for this.
We've used Couchsurfing only couple of times during our travel, but we are quite familiar with other Couchsurfinglike websites devoted to travelling cyclists as we cycled at first (Warmshower.org).
