CURRENT MISSION
Keep chill and get shit done.
ABOUT ME
I'm a journalist so drinking, quickly finding common ground with people of any and every background, being naturally curious, and having a desire to discover new things is what I do everyday. Despite the occasional deadline stress, I'm very laid back (for want of a better phrase). Somehow, I seem to find myself out most evenings but nothing compares to good home-cooked food. I like good coffee. I'm an active blogger. I like travelling but not feeling like a tourist. I'm moving to New York to study at Columbia University in July.
PHILOSOPHY
To paraphrase some bloke who once said something, you can quickly get the measure of someone from how they treat people who can do nothing for them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm really easy going, so happy to be as involved (work permitting) or as hands-off in your trip as a couch-surfer sees fit. I like meeting new people and after being the recipient of such generosity in the US, I'd like be able to help other people out so make yourself at home!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've actually been a guest 4 or 5 times in the last year on a recent trip to the states, but was travelling with my bro so used his couch surfing account so hence no reviews on my profile. But I got a good feel for the vive and had an awesome time so looking forward to repaying the favour.
Interests
Was in a moderately successful band for three years before a significant career change so music is a big interest but mostly listening these days. I'm planning on swimming the Gibraltar Strait in June so swim every day pretty much. I left my trumpet (been playing for 15 years now) in London but looking forward to dusting it off when I get back.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Riding on a boat with rescue workers searching for survivors in the recent Cambodian floods, down in Battambang, and coming across a young family with a newborn baby.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been in Cambodia for about six months now so got the inside scoop on a lot of things. I think it's always good to get to properly get the cultural, social and political lowdown of a place your visiting and happy to blab on for hours about that. Best venue for this is usually a bar. I'm trying to improve my photography skills so any pointers in this department would be massively appreciated.
