About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Roadtripping across the United States

ABOUT ME

I'm a recent college graduate a B.A. degree in Creative Writing and Classical Philology. Basically, that means I did a lot of work with language and imagination. I was born and raised on the East Coast, by a father who loved driving long distances. I probably picked up my travel itch from him. I'm always interested in seeing new things and new people, and love nothing more than getting out of the house and moving.

PHILOSOPHY

The only thing you will never have is the thing you never ask for.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During college, I went to Greece and spent three weeks hopping from one place to another, spending one or two nights in each city and moving on. The second day I was there, my professor took us all to a temple of Poseidon a few hours outside of Athens. We had to climb a significant hill to get there. At the bottom, everything was calm. At the top, the wind was so sharp it could push you over. Several of us ended up on our backsides and decided it was easier to stay on the ground while the professors gave their lecture about the temple. It was easier to stay focused on what they were saying when we weren't worried we were going to end up in the ocean below the cliff we were on. When they were done, I stood up again, braced for it to be difficult, but I will never forget how easy it was, feeling the wind push me back to my feet. I must have picked just the right moment...

There were a lot of things on that trip, where I must have picked just the right moment, and I fell in love with Greece over and over.
