Hello. I am majoring in Arabic and Bahasa Malaysia at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. I am very interested in both Arab culture and Islam though I am not a Muslim myself :)
-I am someone who can become close to anyone, even people I don’t know well. I also really like going to parties and bars. I like to meet new people, especially people from other countries.
-I like to show people news things and I like to give presents. When other people are happy, I am happy too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The reason that I made a Couch Surfing profile is because I don’t want to simply visit tourist attractions, and I don’t want to be thought of as a guest. I want to meet locals and I want to learn the local culture. Having the opportunity to become close to people from other countries would be extraordinary.
If you come to visit Korea someday, I won’t think of you as a guest. But, I would gladly show you famous sites and restaurants! If you want to learn about the Korean language or traveling to Korea, please let me know!
-Meeting new people, learning foreign languages
- Food!! (When I think about it, food and drinks are some of my favorite things, especially black tea.)
- Global citizen education, international development, human rights, feminism
- human rights
- womens rights
- volunteer work
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like hip hop and indie music, and I prefer upbeat or soft music to sad songs. I also really love EDM. I went to the 2015 World EDM Festival in Seoul last year, and it was a really amazing experience. My favorite singers are the Korean hip hop group Epik High, and British artists Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, and Ady Suleiman.
Movies: I am crazy about romantic and sad movies. Begin Again, Boyhood, and The Fault in Our Stars are my favorite movies. And I like all food, so I like any move that has to do with food.
Books: I try and read about one book each week, but I don’t read novels. I mostly read books about travel and life lessons.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think that that the most amazing thing that I have done in my life has been meeting many new friends from around the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching: I am very interested in both Korean language education and global citizen education. I am going to work hard and get my Korean language teacher’s license. I am also quite interested in human rights problems around the world, so I am also fascinated by global citizen education.
Learning: I like to study foreign languages. Right now I am studying Arabic, English, and Bahasa Malaysia. But if I have the opportunity I would also like to learn French and Turkish.
Sharing: I like to do volunteer work, and I volunteer twice a week. I usually volunteer with hearing-impaired people. I type up scripts during seminars and forums for people who can’t hear.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am not someone with a lot of material things. I can’t share money or a house, but I want to talk about the experiences and memories we have had in our lives. It would be awesome to make even more together!
