I try to enjoy every minute. If you learn to find happiness everywhere, you'll have the world in your hands.
I am a firm believer in experiencing as much as possible in this short life. I travel to explore new cultures, languages, lifestyles, people, and landscapes. The more one explores, the more one will learn, and the more one will grow. As I get older I realize how much my travels have given me and how they have allowed me to stay grounded in what matters most: nurturing relationships of family and close friends, keeping healthy and harnessing positivity, staying open-minded to others and laughing at what life throws your way. I lIve for those small moments that present themselves in unexpected places but that remind you that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
I consider myself a warm and open person who thrives on infectious positive energy, genuine and happy people, conversations that last for hours, laughter that comes from the belly, and finding common threads that connect us to one another.
I am currently living in Berlin Germany and slowly and thoroughly exploring Europe country by country.
I live with the idea that our life is short and we are the creators of our own happiness and the navigators of our own path. Life presents us with choices everyday and it is up to us as individuals to make choices that are right for us at that moment. Walk your walk, and have the confidence and trust in your instinct that your life is meant to be great by your own standards. I travel to experience what it is like to walk a mile in someone else's shoes and gain further insight into the human experience that connects us all. This knowledge has proved to be the key to my own happiness. Learn to love your journey, what ever that may be. And as the saying goes, if you don't like the course your life is taking, simply change it. There are no wrong turns.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing is a fantastic concept! What a great way to meet new people, and experience places through a local's perspective. I am never quite satisfied simply visiting "the sites" and feeling like a cog in the tourist wheel. Couch surfing offers authenticity, connectivity, and exchanges of knowledge, ideas, and ideals. Who wouldn't want to participate in such an experience!
I started the couchsurfing experience by hosting surfers while living in Victoria BC - which began well before I even knew about couchsurfing.com. We hosted backpackers from all over the world and which is why I joined the official couchsurfing world.
I have couchsurfed around Australia, as well as Indonesia - all of which were positive experiences!
Highly recommended to all those who are outgoing and on the search for something a little bit alternative and out of the norm.
My interests are always changing and evolving. But some that always stay the same are..
- In true Canadian form, I love being outside and in nature as much as possible - whether that is hiking a mountain, finding a secluded camping spot, or being by the ocean or lake
- Beach fires
- Live music
- Bbqs and meals with friends
Most of all I enjoy trying new things and pushing my boundaries.
- live music
- rock climbing
Music, Movies, and Books
My music taste is always evolving, and it really depends on my mood. Currently, I am on a pretty mellow kick. But I also listen to good jazz, funk, and as I like to call it, 'happy island dance music'!
All time favourite: James Taylor
Currently reading "The Kite Runner"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It is the most amazing feeling getting to the top of a mountain after climbing for two gruelling days just in time to see the sun rising over the China sea. I will never forget the feeling I had at that moment, the feeling of great accomplishment and the new found confidence that I could do anything I set my mind to.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always learning new things, and seeking to gain knowledge in one way or another. I am currently focusing on learning to master the German language.
I am a story teller, and can become quite animated and chatty when sitting down and swaping tales with another fellow story teller.
I share what I know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
