To travel the globe and find culture, enlightenment, lessons, and to savor the the amazing thing known as life.
My name is Levi Castle. I am young, but I consider myself old at heart. Life has brought me many places, and placed me in some interesting situations. Its seems that only in the past couple of years that I have figured out that I DO NOT want the proverbial "American Dream". I look around everyday and see people measure success on the amount of SUV's they have in the driveway, or the size of their in-ground pool. It honestly saddens me to think that people today (for the most-part) value tangible objects, more than the pure zest of life itsself. I crave adventure, and meeting great people, and seeing places no one sees. I will set out in less than 1 week to walk basically the width of the United States. I will walk 2,495 miles from Kentucky, to the beautiful beaches of Northern California. Im doing so with nothing but my pack and a few supplies. I want to know how my person reacts to living in the most ancient of human conditions. I hope to discover many new things about myself during this adventure, and soak up as much culture as possible. PURA VIDA!!
My philosophy has always been to be selfless and to love your fellow man. Love is a sure way to end war, despair, and anger. If you give to others, you shall receive great things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am amazed that there is such a great site such as this, that operates widely on the generosity of others. I have not had the pleasure of being a member of this sort of community, however I have been greated with great generosity on my travels. I was making my way from Ky to Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, for a backpacking adventure. I got there by way of walking, and very generous people who gave me rides. I was strolling through a small town, and stopped at a diner for some coffee. I met this amazing old lady (87 yrs old) by the name of Gretta. Gretta offered me a place to stay for the night. I took her up on the offer. We went to her small country homestead, and she showed me to my room. She then cooked me an amazing dinner, and offered me a hot shower. After dinner we sat up for hours, she told me stories of life during the great depressions, and war times. It was a truly amazing experience, with an amazing person.
Rock Climbing is a big passion of mine. I also enjoy music very much, I have played the guitar for 9 yrs and have my new ukulele, that will be accompanying me on my upcoming adventure. I love anything to do with nature, and being outdoors. I love life in the simplest forms.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love any type of music that involves true feelings, and good vibes. No rap lol. I enjoy reading about anything that peaks an interest.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been many places in my life, but one adventure sticks out more than any. I walked/hitched to The Pisgah Wilderness in North Carolina. In 3 days I done more that 60 miles in the unmarked portion. I was an amazing experience to be absolutely alone with nature in all aspects. Its you and the forest, it was truly a divine experience.
