About Me

I'm a 20 year old girl from Finland. Back home I'm a practical nurse. Last year I applied to study physiotherapy but unfortunately didn't get into the school, so I decided to go overseas for a year. I've been in Australia (Geelong) for 8 months working as an au pair (nanny) in an Australian family. I have enjoyed every moment here in Australia! Now it's time to start traveling around and see more of this beautiful country.
I find myself easy going and adventurous person. I love meeting new people and getting to see different ways of living. Helping people is really close to my heart. I love spontaneous people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've heard some good stories about couchsurfing from a few friends of mine. I think it's a wonderful that there's people that want to open their doors and show their way of living to someone who comes from a different country to travel and explore around something very new. For me it gives a great opportunity to get to know your culture and meet local people which is absolutely awesome!

Interests

Traveling, fitness/wellness, fashion and music.
I also love food and beaches! Want to learn how to surf. Want to travel as much as I can through my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many kind of music! I'm not picky at all. Have to say that Ed Sheeran melts my heart though.

Romantic and true story based movies are my favorites.

I'm bad at reading books.. usually I start reading and stop before the middle of the story. I enjoy reading magazines though.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 13 years old we had this student exchange thing in the school. I went to France for 10 days and had a French host family. I didn't speak any French and my English was miserable.. obviously it was a little challenge to communicate with the family. I tried my best to express myself in poor English. I was shy and it was the first time abroad without my family. Yes, I had the best time over there! Positive mind was the key to this successful experience of mine. After that I felt like going overseas for longer time at some point in my life. And here I am!

Coming to Australia for a year has been pretty awesome! I'm going to travel in Bali and Thailand for a few months next year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm keen to hear about your traveling experiences and everything about your culture and interests. I'd love to get to see your favorite places around the area you live in, go for a beer, go to the beach.. whatever! Show me how Aussies party!

I'm happy to tell you about my country (Finland) and also the other countries I have travelled to. I can share good laugh and stories about life. Would love to teach some Finnish to you!
