About Me

Hello! My name is Hannah. I was a culinary student at Oakland Community College, but I also took some classes in Global Studies. I work as a server and manager at a tea room in Plymouth, MI and I absolutely love to travel (my friends have started calling me a travel junkie...). As for what I want to do with my life... there are so many things I want to do. As for right now, I've started settling down with my fiance Frederick (29) and our 3 dogs in our house in Dearborn Heights, but I still get that itch for travel that I need to fulfill. We are also in the process of getting a food truck up and running! I hope to starting hosting surfers soon... just as soon as we finish getting our guest room set up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is something I am very passionate about! I would love to meet new people, share stories and experiences, and walk off the beaten path to see what the locals do and where the best places to go are!

Interests

1) Anything outdoorsy! I love hiking, biking, canoeing, fishing, archery, rock climbing, tree climbing, horseback riding... you name it, odds are I love to do it.

2) Exploring abandoned places... already found a few that I love to go to!

3) Road tripping. I would live out of my car if it meant constantly traveling.

4) I know I said biking in the first thing, but it's a big one. I started doing slow roll in Detroit every week where around 10,000 people get together to do a 7-10 mile bike ride around the city. Simply amazing.

5) Again, something I already mentioned, but climbing. Like, literally climbing anything.

Books: I will read literally anything and everything. My favorite books are The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern, The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls by Emilie Autumn, and The Physick Book of Diliverance Dane by Katherine Howe. My favorite authors are John Green and Dean Koontz.

Movies: As far as movies go, I will watch anything. I'm one of those people who likes almost every movie they see. I probably enjoy horror movies the most though. Some of my favorite movies are Grave Encounters (but not the 2nd one... that one was just weird), We're the Millers, Labyrinth, The Conjuring, all of the Insidious films, Howl's Moving Castle (but really, all of those ones are great)... I should probably stop now, this list could go on forever...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Explored an abandoned school, an abandoned hospital in Detroit (the view from the roof is amazing!), and climbed up some old police watch towers

2) Went cliff diving in Tennessee

3)Found a Paper Town in Indiana (I've gone there 3 times now... it is easily my favorite place to ever exist)

4)Drove to Lake Michigan in the middle of the night on my birthday to climb sand dunes and stare at the stars

5) Got stranded on an island... interesting story...

Teach, Learn, Share

I play a bit of guitar, so I could teach you how to strum a few chords! I also went to culinary school, so cooking is something I am very passionate about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, experiences, someone to talk to, and a great meal if you'd like (I love to cook)! I really just want to meet new people and make new friends.
