My name is Hannah, and I'm a native Texan. Although I'm from a very tiny town in east Texas, I prefer to claim Waco, TX (where I went to undergrad) as "home". Now I'm in Houston, working in an addiction neuroscience laboratory at MD Anderson. I'm a bit on the introverted side, but I got really lucky when I met my life-partner. He's the most extroverted extrovert and gets me out of my shell.

I traveled a good bit as a kid, but have been too busy with college and then work for me to do much lately. I'm a sucker for touristy things, but I mostly want to explore new cities and new countries like a local. Shane (my dashingly good-looking life-partner) did not get to travel in his youth, and I want so badly to share with him how AMAZING of an experience travel can be.

I'm a big nerd. I am really passionate about dogs (we have three...they don't travel). And I'm a really organized (to a fault) traveler. I have no artistic talents, but I love buying new art from local artists to put on my walls at home. Shane is the best conversationalist that I know. He can play instruments, is really into internet rap and really good jazz. He's a professional theatre actor and loves discussing the deeper meaning of books, plays, and films.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I once got really sick in college, and I was afraid that I had missed the opportunity to complete my bucket list. The world is so big, and there are so many interesting people and places that we won't experience if we don't open the door to them.

So I want people to learn from us. And I want to learn from you.

Interests

I play Magic The Gathering and D&D.

If I were rich I'd rescue every homeless dog that I could.

I love food. And craft beer. I really want to get into backpacking and hiking, though I've never actually done it.

I'm really into science/medicine. I have a full bookshelf dedicated to books on different diseases.
