About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To enjoy and experience the world. Become a Lupin lady.
ABOUT ME
My name is Hannah and I'm a lefty ginger. I grew up in Omaha, NE, love my hometown, and also traveling. My undergraduate degree is in journalism, and I am currently teaching after completing a Master's in English with a TESOL certificate.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm am an amicable person, which makes life easy. I believe in co-existence based on mutual respect, aka Wil Wheaton's Law, aka the Golden Rule.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm currently surfing and hanging, but I'd love to host as soon as I have a couch to offer. I'm also looking for a Norwegian-English or Chinese-English language exchange.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I read a few books and met some cool hosts and surfers whilst traveling. Stayed with a friend at my first host's in Colorado, and would love to do it again! I hope to offer a couch soon.
Interests
Reading, writing, history, museums, art, nature, funny names, short cuts, learning, strange stories, oddities, esoteric teapots, tea ceremony, tatoo, and folklore. I love a good chat about anything, and am prone to asking questions.

Music, Movies, and Books
More than I can list, including: Authors; Diana Wynne Jones, John Green, A.A. Milne (especially the poetry), Jane Austen, Mark Twain, post-modernists, Ronald Dahl, JRR Tolkien, Alexander Dumas, and children's literature in general. Movies: Quinton Tarantino, Robert Rodrigez, all the disney movies, and Studio Ghibli (especially Miyazaki and Castle in the Sky). I listen to all music from black metal to country- and a lot of classical. Mostly I like it live. Omaha has a great indie scene and my heritage is jazz steeped, but in general I am rubbish about following bands.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I volunteered on a farm through WWOOFing and during the week learned survival french, helped a friend with conversational English, and taught a Chilean to square dance.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am studying to teach English as a second language (or third, or fourth, etc), and am very interested in linguistics and folklore. I can blather on about a number of academic subjects, books, movies, and Netflix dramas. I do a few different square dancing steps and cook traditional cajun dishes.
I'd like to keep learning Norwegian and Mandarin Chinese, am interested in politics, history, cuisine, guitar, tea ceremony, physics, and any number of other things.
I like to share meals, coffees, and tea. I can also recommend a few good places to hike in the area.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook dinner, am an able dish washer, and can share my views on American politics and culture. I'd be happy to answer any English related questions and can make fabulous tea.
