Grounding myself on a farm in Minnesota--but not getting stuck.

ABOUT ME

I'm a social introvert. My love language is quality time. I raise rabbits for meat, and kill them myself. I care about learning how to do the things that are necessary for my life, rather than depending on others for those skills (e.g. building/heating shelter, procuring food from the earth not the supermarket). Not to say I'm an expert.

PHILOSOPHY

I really like everything Wendell Berry says. Except sometimes what he says about marriage, because I'm queer and it's hard for me to wrap my mind around that straightness.

I love hosting people, and I love meeting new people and sleeping in new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Growing up, my family would do the mennonite version of couchsurfing--called "mennonite your way." I remember the first time I met a mennonite with a southern accent. It was confusing for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 2 weeks traveling Morocco by myself. I don't know french and barely know arabic. It was great, but what was I thinking?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach and share music of the stringed instrument as well as vocal variety. I'm also happy to talk about the growing, preserving, and consuming of plants and animals.
