I was bitten by the travel bug at a young age when my parents decided to move from Pennsylvania to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, when I was 5 and my eyes were opened to the joys (and challenges) of experiencing life cross-culturally. As an adult, I have made it a priority to travel whenever my teaching schedule allows it. When I'm not lesson planning, grading or traveling, I am probably reading or enjoying time with my husband.

My husband, Lewis, and I met in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, before embarking on an international long-distance relationship when various circumstances took us back to Canada and the US respectively. Thankfully, after getting married this past September, we finally live in the same geographical area and can travel around together.

Lewis and I are currently doing a year's internship at a drug & alcohol rehabilitation center near Reading, England. We are hoping to cram as much traveling and exploring as we can while we are here!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Lewis and I love to travel and try to see and experience new locations whenever we can. We are currently volunteering at a drug & alcohol rehab for year, so we are operating under limited funds. I've Couchsurfed with other friends in the past and was impressed by the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts. Its great to meet people with local knowledge and a love for the place one is visiting. In the future, I would love to give back to the Couchsurfing community someday by being able to host people myself.
