ABOUT US: Hannah and Juliane
Heeeeeeeeey :)
we are two open-minded girls who love to travel, hike, party, meet new people and enjoy life.
After finishing high-school in april 2013 we started our little 'world-trip', backpacking through Australia (west coast -> completely different world compared to the 'famous' east coast), New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and China. We loved the travel spirit, the outdoor activities in non-touristic places (we actually got to through our wonderful Couchsurfing hosts), the nature in all these countries and so on.
After this breathtaking adventure, Juliane went and stayed three month in a wonderful family in Colombia.
Now we both study our masters in two different cities, Hannah in Cologne and Juliane in a beautiful student city in Lund, Sweden.
At this moment, Juliane is spending a study period abroad in Costa Rica with two friends where she is looking forward to meet people from all part of the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
During our entire trip but especially in Australia and New Zealand we stayed with Couchsurfers all the time and this definitely made our trip. Therefore, we had access to the greatest spots of these countries where no tours would offer any day trip to. That's why we decided to stay with couch surfers all the time instead of spending our time in hostels.
For us it's not just about getting free accomodation it's more about getting to know the country better through meeting its inhabitants. We are interested in different cultures and opinions and meeting people from all over the world.
For us a perfect host means spending time together (exploring the surroundings, cooking, have some drinks together, have nice talks, party, etc) It's not a problem if couch surfers have to work and have therefor not a lot of time. But we think that both 'parts' have to be interested in each other.
As we are studying at the moment, we are not able to travel but we both miss it, so we would like to get the 'travel spirit' in our homes. But we also expect our 'visitors' to have the same idea of couchsurfing as we have, so that there is no misunderstanding ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We just had very very positive Couchsurfing experiences and we both recommend it to our friends who also like the ideas of travelling in other countries + getting to know the place through locals.
So now we would like to give back the hospitality that we got to knwo in every place we've been. So come to Cologne and get to know the coolest city in Germany!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When we were 14 years old we have been to Rwanda, one of the poorest countries of Africa.
We have already been to many countries together but Africa was a great experience for us. Eventough this country is not rich at all, we think that this country has other more important values and trasures. We loved the nature but especially the people and their mentality.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Austria, China, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Rwanda, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States
