September 2021 - Washington DC

During my PhD at the University of Leuven (KU Leuven), I decided to go abroad. I wanted to go to DC and more specifically to Georgetown University to broaden my horizon. Unfortunately, Covid-19 or 'the plague' obstructed my travel plans. Now I am lucky I still was able to go to DC. Here I am going to be researching algorithmic recommender systems at the newsroom of The Washington Post. Apart from that, I hope to travel quite a bit, because I have never visited the East Coast (except NYC).

In DC I will be going to some museums and concerts. I also like to walk or bike around, and I also enjoy a good run.

Interests

I have been playing the piano for over five years. So I am quite interested in music. Not only classical music, but also all other sorts of other genres.
Reading is one of my favorite activities. Back at home, I have my own library with over 1000+ books, always welcome to borrow one :)
I like cooking, going to museums or the movies, meeting up with friends...
