ABOUT ME

I lay down, I drink tea, I wear colors, I LOVE SWEETS and bitter flavors and really really spicy food. I am afraid of jumping off of things, and I am very clumsy. I go on walks. I go on more walks! Descansitos and escondite! I talk to old people and smile at dogs and try not to get too stressed out about everything that I want to do/help/change, instead I jump around and make silly noises and I'll listen to what you have to say.

I go out! I smile and practice this language. I don't have a couch right now- but I will someday.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Going to Couch surfing events when I moved to Buenos Aires helped me more than any Castellano class. People! My experience has been really positive on couch surfing because I didn't know what to do or where to go! My first night out was a couch surfing party, I met Greeks/French people/tons of Porteños and we ate and drank- about 100 of us- and went to la Bubamara together, which was the most energy I had ever seen at a show- my white keds were completely purple from all the spilling wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of movies, old ones and French ones are generally my favorites, I sing jazz really loud but I am pretty shy, my father is a drummer in Jazz/soul/rock n' roll bands, and all of that music makes me feel at home. I love Joanna Newsom, Bob Dylan, The Beat Happening, Chuck Berry and groups like The Ronettes and The Shirlies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On New Years Eve 2008 I decided to take a train from NY (where I was visiting) to Saint Louis to surprise my friends who were playing a show on New Years Day. I was on trains for 30 hours but it was the best trip ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

Please let's practice French- I am moving to Paris in September and I just started learning French in March!

I want to learn magic tricks, and I am going to France to take clown classes- so if you know magic tricks/ can ride a unicycle- I want to learn!

I know some things about Vegan cooking, but if things turn out a disaster we can always just drink tea and eat bananas with dulce de soja.

I can help you with basic spanish, English, walking and sharing anything big or small that you want to expand upon, I can interview you for my Anthropology project on food and love in Buenos Aires.
