To be exposed to new walks of life and experiences through travel.
I have been working as a financial planner on the north side of Chicago, IL since I graduated from college in 2009. Although I have learned a lot from my current profession, I have decided it is not the career path which I intend to pursue. I've decided to spend the next year of my life traveling the Pacific Northwest and seeking out new people and experiences. I will be moving down to Los Angeles in July 2012 to begin working at a studio with aspirations of becoming a screenwriter. I want to experience the natural beauty of the American West before moving back to the hustle and bustle of city life.
I believe that we have one life to live and it is our responsibility to seek out new experiences in order to make ourselves better human beings. I want to live my life with integrity and adventure.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My cousin recommended this service, so I am a Couchsurfing Greenhorn. I hope to share my experiences with those whom I will be staying with over the course of the next year. I look forward to hosting once I get my own place in Los Angeles next summer.
Other than staying with friends and relatives, I am new to this.
Hiking, camping, biking, all different sports, reading, writing, good conversations...
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite novel: Sometimes a Great Notion.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had many wonderful experiences: 2008 Election Night in Grant Park Chicago, 2005 World Series, sunrise over the snow-covered foothills of Montana at the point where Custer made his last stand, the ear-ringing silence and serenity of an empty Joshua Tree National Park valley, watching the sun set over a pod of migrating grey whales from a cliff in Big Sur, the Rose Bowl, Las Vegas, driving the Pacific Coast Highway from Seattle to San Diego... and many many more.
