About Me
CURRENT MISSION
exploring the world on a complete shoestring
ABOUT ME
I am 19 years old and taking the so called gap year before i go to study geography at cambridge uni in october 09. Currently I am traveling alone through West Africa - Accra to Dakkar and it has been so many things i cannot describe - beautiful, energetic, heart warming, fun, rough, hot, intimidating, welcoming - the ultimate adventure full of some of the most generous and beautiful people in the world...Although i have been lucky enough to have glimpsed quite a lot of the world already, this is my first big trip and as always the financial situation is tight, which is often actually a good thing....after senegal i am off to spain and various parts of europe with a very good friend ...and then who knows..
above all i love to learn - whether its through the words of wisom of others, through experience, or through a book...every new person has a story to tell ...
and the glass is always half full
PHILOSOPHY
if you accept that what has happened should have happened then you can never be dissapointed...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
travelling the 250Km to Timbuktu from mopti on a freight pinasse down the gorgeous river niger, whilst sleeping on rice and millet sacks for 6 days and living for fish and sunsets, packed in with some very generous people and learning so much despite the fact there was no common language to communicate in...
Teach, Learn, Share
i can speak basic french and would love to learn it properly.
i could teach you how to...sail a boat....juggle...tie a tuareg desert scarf into a turban...mount a camel whilst it stands >> perhaps not the most practicle skills on offer but interesting all the same.
