Join Couchsurfing to see Havana’s full profile. It’s free!
My name is Havana! I graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelors degree in photo media. I currently work as a bartender at a couple of different bars in my area.
In my free time I like to stream on Twitch - aka play video games for strangers on the internet. Some people think it is weird but I think it is incredibly fun! It's cool to be able to hop on the site and instantly be surrounded by people that share your love of gaming.
I also love photography. I like to go out on small "photo adventures" on my days off - exploring local areas, trying to find a little bit of magic in my backyard. I am mostly into shooting portraits but recently have been getting into landscape and nature photography. I have a 5D Mark iii as my main digital camera and a Bronica SQ-Ai medium format as my main film camera. I have been very into shooting film recently - something exciting about not knowing right away if the shot worked out right away. And when the prints come back and it looks amazing that delayed gratification is so satisfying!
I also perform often as a standup / improvisational comedian. I really enjoy making people laugh - like really a whole lot. For me there is no better feeling then someone laughing at one of my jokes - even if I know in my heart it was a really stupid joke.
I also sing in a Doo-Wop band! We write all original material, most of which is pretty raunchy and fun. I put a picture of us in with my profile pictures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Above all else I want to meet new people! I want to see the world but not as a typical tourist does. I want to stay with people who know all the exciting secrets of their area: the most beautiful landscapes, the best place to party on Saturday night, where the entrance to the sewer is, what not to order at the cafe down the street, etc. I want to see their party of the world through their eyes, abuse their knowledge and discover what they are about as a result.
And honestly I'm in the midst of a quarter life crisis and I feel like "finding myself" should be at the top of my priority list. I have this gut feeling that traveling / making new friends just might be the thing to help me do that.

Music, Movies, and Books
This all changes daily - let's talk about it when we hang out!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I crashed a full blown greek wedding in Greek Town in Chicago and it was absolutely bonkers. I would love to tell you the whole story sometime!
Teach, Learn, Share
.... not entirely sure what I am being prompted to say here.... hmm...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my knowledge of photography! I would love to talk tips and tricks - or perhaps take a really nice profile picture for you! I also would love to share my time and attention with my hosts - if you wanna hang out we are going to hang out HARD. I can share my money - buy you dinner, or a drink or all the ingredients to make a 4 course meal at home, or a ticket to a show! You are opening your home to me and I would love to return the favor! I can also share my bad jokes and crude sense of humor if that is what you are into! I can also try to keep that part of myself on the DL if you are not into it... haha.
